What a year. 2017 has been one for the history books and we’re thankful for all of the memories we created with you. From our location in Harvard Square, we’ve been fortunate to have a front-row seat to the discourse shaping the world; the passion we overhear in your voices at breakfast in Henrietta’s Table and over glasses of wine at Noir motivates us to work harder. We count ourselves lucky to serve you, our guests, so you may better serve the world. Thank you for your inspiration.
To match the global community in which we live, we are more than fortunate to have our staff join us from around the globe. We could not operate our hotel 365 days a year, 24 hours a day without the dedication of the 280 members of the Charles Hotel Family. We hope you enjoy meeting some of them in our Family Lounge. This year we welcomed friendly new faces, celebrated well-earned retirements and relaxed together after hours. We couldn’t ask for a better group of individuals to learn and grow with through the years. Thank you for your dedication.
It has not gone unnoticed that Mother Nature spared Boston and Cambridge in 2017. We are heartbroken as each news report brings in more videos of destruction across the planet. From Texas to Sierra Leone, from hurricanes to wildfires – our hearts go out to those affected by these tragedies, as well as those of the unnatural kind. Helping where we can, we hosted two benefit concerts this year with community members at The Regattabar. Music Aid 4 Venezuela with the talented Leo Blanco in September brought in about $3,000 for Ayuda Humanitaria para Venezuela, and the United for Mexico concert in November raised more than $1600 for the victims of the earthquakes in Mexico. We’re currently in the midst of our annual Give Thanks promotion where we donate $5 per booked room to a charity – this year it was important to us to assist those in Puerto Rico, as many of our staff members have loved ones living there. And that’s just a small sample of the good happening in Harvard Square – our neighbors have also been doing their own fundraisers, blood drives, raffles and countless other events to assist those who need some extra love this year. We admire our community for their giving hearts all-year round. Thank you for your generosity.
We hope through this new website we are better able to connect with you – whether you’re a future guest, regular at Henrietta’s Table, Harvard alumni, loyal follower of The Regattabar and everything in-between.
