Edmar Castaneda Quartet

Colombian-born Edmar Castañeda has made a name for himself as the preeminent jazz harp virtuoso. Castañeda brings forth a brilliance that beautifully merges the jazz tradition with a diverse set of styles and genres while bringing unbridled attention to a somewhat unfamiliar instrument: the harp. Singlehandedly, Castañeda has cemented the harp’s place in jazz with innovative technique and heartfelt creativity from a wealth of formidable collaborations with music titans such as Wynyton Marsalis, Bela Fleck, John Scofield, Ricki Lee Jones, Hiromi, Pedrito Martinez, Marcus Miller, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Ivan Lins, The Yellowjackets, Paco De Lucia, and Paquito D’Rivera.

Antonia Bennett Fathers Day Concert

By the time Antonia could walk and talk, she was performing alongside her father sharing the spotlight with some of the greatest  entertainers in history at renowned venues across the globe including Radio City Music Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Umbria Jazz
Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival, The Greek Theatre, Royal Albert Hall, and Caesars Palace. Her upbringing exposed her to iconic figures like Rosemary Clooney, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Gene Kelly, and others who served as mentors and inspirations, setting the stage for a lifelong devotion to the craft of performance. In addition to her live performances, Antonia also had the honor of recording a duet with Tony Bennett on “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm”, featured on his 2008 holiday album ‘A Swingin’ Christmas’. Her voice has been described as "captivating," with the ability to evoke both timeless and contemporary sensibilities. Critics have compared her sound to icons such as Billie Holiday and Rickie Lee Jones, with echoes of the sultry, playful qualities of Betty Boop.

Bill Frisell’s career as a guitarist and composer has spanned more than 45 years and many celebrated recordings, whose catalog has been cited by Downbeat as “the best recorded output of the decade” Frisell’s new album, “In My Dreams” released March ’26 by Blue Note Records to coincide with a series of concerts celebrating his 75th birthday throughout the U.S. and Europe. Produced by Lee Townsend, the album features Frisell’s long-time collaborators-Jenny Scheinman (violin), Eyvind Kang (viola), Hank Roberts (cello), Thomas Morgan (bass) and Rudy Royston (drums)-in an ensemble configuration that has never recorded together previously, performing largely original music written or newly arranged, especially for this project.  Bill’s excitement for it is palpable.  “I’ve been dreaming about this.”, he said. "A family gathering. A reunion. That’s what it feels like getting together with my closest friends. Our history goes back decades. Coming up on a half-century with Hank! I’ve spent so much time with these folks.
Traveled many miles. But that doesn’t mean we’re done. There’s still much unfinished business. We’re just getting started."

Stanley Sagov & the Remembering the Future Jazz Workshop

Stanley Sagov is a dazzling jazz pianist and composer who is skilled on a number of musical instruments as well as also skilled  with surgical instruments . . . as he has had a full-time career as a medical doctor.Though he is now retired from his career as a
primary care physician, he still amazes his colleagues in both music and in medicine.  After a very scary stage 4 cancer diagnosis in 2023, Dr. Sagov now makes a big healthy comeback with his Remembering The Future Jazz Workshop band which will include
himself on keyboards, John Lockwood on bass, Yoron Israel on drums, Tucker Antell on sax and Marcus Santos on percussion.

Experience the boundary-breaking sounds of the Ize Trio as they celebrate the release of their
second album, Global Prayer. Featuring Chase Morrin (piano), George Lernis (percussion), and
Naseem Alatrash (cello), the ensemble weaves a rich tapestry of Jazz and Middle Eastern
traditions. Critics have hailed them as "an inspired, unique trio" whose "revolutionary spirit
makes each movement a new adventure" (Dee Dee McNeil, Making a Scene). This special
performance marks a first-time collaboration with local saxophone luminary Gregory Groover Jr., promising an evening of deep cultural resonance and virtuosic improvisation.

Join two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning NYC-based pianist and composer Taylor Eigsti as he takes the stage at Regattabar.  Eigsti started playing the piano when he was four years old. Growing up in Menlo Park, CA, Eigsti was quickly labeled a prodigy, and has since released 9 albums as a bandleader, in addition to appearing on over 80 albums as a sideman. Eigsti has travelled internationally quite extensively over the years both as a sideman and with his trio and quartet, Eigsti has performed as a soloist with many premiere symphony orchestras, including the New York Pops, Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Naples Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, and many others.

The ten-piece Either/Orchestra returned to action last December after a six-year hiatus with sold-out shows. 

Once again, they return to the stage at Regattabar, with a special guest, Ethiopian singer Munit Mesfin. A star in Ethiopia and in the Ethiopian community around Washington DC, Munit will be singing classic songs from the catalogs of Mahmoud Ahmed, Teshome Mitiku and others.  They will also play music from their vast 40 year catalog, ranging across a wide range of jazz and Latin styles, always done their own way, along with music from their new album, Ethiopiques 32:Nalbandian the Ethiopian.

One of Cambridge’s most beloved summer traditions is back! On Friday, June 26, the City of Cambridge and Central Square Business Improvement District (BID) will host the 26th Annual Cambridge Dance Party in front of City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue).

The celebration kicks off with An inclusive, free event welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds. There will be live local DJs spinning high-energy music all night, illuminating interactive features, activities and dancing for all ages, a vibrant light show at sunset that transforms City Hall and its surrounding area into a glowing dance arena, and bike valets on both ends of the closed Mass Ave stretch for eco-friendly travel.

In Search of Earth's Secrets

The Museum of Science invites visitors of all ages to take part in the Year of Revolutionary Science, a year-long exploration of the ideas and discoveries that changed how the world is understood and continue to shape what comes next.

In Search of Earth’s Secrets is a new temporary exhibit at the Museum of Science. Enjoy hands-on experiences while learning about earthquakes, volcanoes, and the dinosaur extinction. It highlights the JOIDES Resolution, a seagoing research vessel that drills core samples and collects measurements from under the ocean floor. Explore the Earth’s magnetism, extract a core sample, and play with a giant geology map puzzle!

In Search of Earth’s Secrets has been funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
